My main thing is learning spanish this year. That being 2011 of course because I know that there will be many great opportunities for travel and what not. Here are some pictures that I am am interested in getting your feedback on.

It is crazy how so much time can go by so fast. I can not believe it is already September of 2010. To me, this is unbelievable. The older that I get, the faster the time flies.

Now, for this year 2010 one of my main goals was to find a Spanish instructor in Austin and to learn Spanish. I have not had any time for that and don't see that changing any time soon either.

I will have to be honest. I am not even going to go back to my espanol textbook until at least the new year. There is simply no time because of my schedule. But that does NOT mean that I am not serious about learning Spanish here in Austin. Because I live in Texas, Spanish can and will be an important trait for me to possess.

So, I am saying it in writing right now, I will learn Spanish in 2011!

Learn Spanish in Austin with A Partner

When I first attempted to learn Spanish in Austin, I did so in a classroom atmosphere. There was a young PhD student who was my instructor and I thought that in no time I would be speaking the Spanish like a pro. Unfortunately, it did not work out that way for me.

I found that learning Spanish is in a University classroom is really not that effective and for people looking to learn Spanish in Austin, I do not steer them in that direction. Instead I have found that one of the best ways to really acquire Spanish as a second language is to dedicate a certain amount of time to work with an instructor and a partner.

Learning Spanish with a partner is really the way to go because you get to acquire language skills with another person who is at your same level. You can both learn Spanish vocabulary together and work on pronunciation.

I recommend that a person who wants to learn Spanish also work with an instructor who can guide your skill development and direct you towards successful strategies. Overall, I believe that working with a partner is your best bet for quickly learning Spanish.

Just remember the last thing that you want to do is to try to learn Spanish all on your own. At the very least, it takes two to tango.

Okay, as I said in my last post, Why Learn Spanish there are many reasons that one might want to begin learning Spanish. Let's look at a few more, less conservative reasons that one might want to begin learning Spanish.

The first reason why one might want to learn Spanish is that there are so many more travel opportunities available to those who speak a foreign language. What if you could travel with confidence into the interior of Mexico or to the mountains of Chile? Well, you could do just that if you learned Spanish.

Another great reason to learn Spanish is that you can view foreign films from over 40 countries without having to read the subtitles. You could simply enjoy the actors portrayals without having their performances reinterpreted by some character generator at the distribution company.

Finally, one should consider learning Spanish because it opens you up to a whole new dating pool if you are single. If you have been living single for any period of time, I am sure you realize how difficult it is to find a mate. Well, imagine the advantages of increasing your pool by nearly a billion people!

Naturally, some of these reasons to learn Spanish have been put forth in jest. However, I strongly believe that learning Spanish has many advantages and I am a strong proponent of personal instruction with a local Spanish instructor. The best way to learn Spanish has always been face to face. I encourage all my readers to look into Spanish instructors in their area. You might be surprised how affordable one on one Spanish instruction can be.
